Chhomrong to Bambu
Awoke to another cloudy morning, due to the lack of space in the teahouses of Chhormrong we had to go 4 to a room so shared with Charlie and Claire. A bit of a different breakfast today as it was my birthday so I received a necklace of flowers and a blessing, plus a gift of a yak wool scarf from Nab’s and the rest of our Nepali crew. It was very sweet of them. My wishes were then partially answered as the thermals then started to clear away the clouds and Machhapuchhare appeared through the clouds if only for a few minutes. After that we set off through the clear air with a vertical drop down a few hundred meters to cross the river – then climb back up the other side even higher to Sinula for lunch. Another drop after lunch down into the lush bamboo forest, then it was time for the wet weather gear again as the cloud surrounded us all the way to bamboo where we stayed for the night. Off to bed by 7 after using half a pot of Tiger Balm on our aching legs!
