For the first 3 nights on Havelock Island we stayed on the eastern side of the island at beach number 3. All the beaches are numbered rather than named here, as are the villages. We stayed at Barefoot Scuba Resort which was quite upmarket for the area. We stayed in a seaview cottage which was as close to the sea as you can get, all the resorts/huts are set back from the beach which is quite nice. There wasn’t much else to do other than laze on the beach during the low tide and swim a lot during the high tide. One odditity out here though is that there are no time zones in India, so even though we were 2 hours flying time east of the mainland, closer to Burma than India, the time was still the same. Meaning it got light at about 4:30am and was dark by 5pm so we got use to getting up early to make the most of the days.
