Annapurna – Day 4

Tadapani to Chhomrong

Today started off clearish but the cloud that has been following us again banked up. So by the time we reached Ghurjung for lunch we were already in the clouds, by the time lunch was served it was chucking it down. This delayed us by another couple of hours to let it abet a little before we moved on. The wet weather gear got a good testing as we walked in and out of the ancient native forests that cover the bases of these mountains. We eventually arrived in Chhomrong, which is the biggest village in the area where the menu of the teahouse covered most European cuisines and a bit of Mexican as well! Got to try the local millet wine called Rakshi which wasn’t bad a bit like Sake.  Not much luck with the mountain views again this evening.
